Genre: Interactive Installation / Explorative toy
Loose Ends is an explorative installation that the user controls with their hands. The user finds themselves in front of a black and white curtain that responds to their hand’s movements. The lines twist and wiggle, creating waves and shapes.
When the curtain is parted the user can catch a glimpse of worlds to get lost in. Videos and small interactions can be discovered as well as links to the real world in the form of a webpage or a phone # to call. But while the curtain grants insight into these alien spaces, it also shrouds most of the image for its viewers - the whole picture is never seen and the user has to make an effort to discover more of it. Lots of loose ends and unfinished stories will be left to make sense of.
The installation is adaptable in size (projection height and width) and uses the Kinect for motion tracking.
